Kana List
Each hiragana in the following table displays its stroke order in QuickTime 7 movie format. (An earlier version of QuickTime will not work here.) The accompanying voice indicates the stroke ending(s). Nagareru 'to flow' in あ, for example, means that the final stroke is released like sweeping. Tomeru 'to stop' in い means that the stroke should end with an abrupt stop. When a stroke does haneru 'to move up' like in か, it ends with a hook. For katakana stroke orders, visit
